Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I get started?
    Please call for a consultation or fill out this brief questionnaire. The information gathered in our phone conversation and questionnaire will lay the foundation for the design. It will help me to understand your primary goals and which services are necessary.
  • What happens next?
    During our scheduled consultation, we will meet at your home to discuss the project in more detail. Mini Design Services can begin during that consultation, once an agreement has been signed and a deposit paid. Therefore, all decision makers must be present at the consultation for Mini Design Services. For Design Packages, a contract and scope of work will be created after the consultation. Design begins once the contract is signed and the deposit paid.
  • How long does the design work take?
    The simplest design services can be completed in 3-5 days. Most design packages will take 4-6 weeks or more depending on the project's complexity. These timelines are estimations for a single room, additional rooms or spaces will require more time. At your initial consultation, we will discuss a more firm timeline.
  • How much do services cost?
    The cost of design services is based on an hourly rate, you are invoiced for the actual work performed. Fees for mini-design services range between $600 and $1000. Fees for design packages range between $1,000 and $8,000 depending on the complexity. The fees described here are for a single room, if additional rooms are added there will be additional fees. Before design work begins, we will agree upon fees and terms.
  • What are the payment terms?
    Each service and design package requires a deposit to begin designing. Once design work begins, you are invoiced based on the actual work completed. Once the design work is completed a final payment is due. All design fees are non- refundable.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
    I accept most forms of payment, my preference is cash, check or Zelle. If you choose to pay with a credit card, there is a surcharge.
  • Do you offer E-Design?
    Yes, E-Design is available for all Mini Services and can be completed for some Design Packages. E-Design will require you to provide additional information that I would gather in person, however the cost and timeline do not change.
  • Do you alter the services or design packages?
    Yes each service can be simplified or added on to and requires a custom quote. You will be provided with options of how to simplify a design service or package, however I will not simplify service at the cost of design quality. If you do not see a service or design package that meets your needs let’s have a conversation about how we can work together.
  • Do you work on commercial or exterior projects?
    Yes, to a limited extent. I offer color consultations for exteriors, this can include selecting siding, windows, roofing, and more. For commercial projects I offer color consultations, furniture and accessory selection and space planning. Please contact me if you are interested in a consultation.
